Artist statement:
"Soon after the earthquake devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010, a photograph of a mountain of dead bodies gripped me. The shared humanity screamed out. Raw emotion compelled me to write this song. We cannot forget that we are all connected, living on one shared earth."

Today
by Candice Anitra
Haiti
Need you to pour into
Stay current and true
Through the darkness screaming
Deep the ripples move
The love naked and streaming
The way you shook this place
This rock in space
Stop the world from breathing
Today, today, today
We need your pearls
Today, today, today
In this world
My fingertips gone blue
And my thoughts of you
They bear repeating
People piled up high
Now they can touch the sky
The soundless weep, the cry
When you shook this place
This rock in space
Stopped my heart from beating
Today, today, today
We need your pearls
Today, today, today
In this world
(Repeat)
